Stun Guns For Your Personal Safety
by Mike Ward on Mar.30, 2010, under Stun Guns and Taser
Are you considering something for personal safety or protection? A stun gun may be a viable option. Here are some features to consider.
Protection: You can protect yourself with electricity. You can shock someone and temporarily incapacitate them. They are available in many shapes, sizes, and strengths. When someone comes in contact with the weapon, they will receive a shock.
Safety features: Non-lethal weapons offer a safe alternative to weapons like firearms and knives. They are not meant to kill. They use high voltage electricity that does not injure. This is useful, in case a weapon gets into the wrong hands. You would not want an innocent person to be seriously injured.
Ease of use: You will not have to recharge the weapon after every use. If you face a difficult situation, you may need it more than one time. Spray weapons usually have to target the eyes or nose. A stun gun will work in many areas of the body. This gives you greater chance to employ them. When you need to recharge, you can plug some of them into a standard electrical outlet. Some will use common batteries. You do not need extensive training to operate these weapons. Firearms may require hours of training or certification. In most states, you will not need any special permits or licenses. There is no waiting period, when you purchase one.
Efficiency: They may work very well to stop an attacker. The results will depend on the strength of the shock. In addition, it will depend on the length of time of the shock. In some cases, an attacker can be disabled for as long as fifteen minutes. Short duration shocks can cause the victim to become disoriented. These things can make it possible for someone to escape danger.
Different types
Higher voltage: Some guns will have nearly three million volts of power. In some cases, you may need the extra voltage. You may want greater certainty or stopping power. You may need to penetrate clothing or a jacket. This may increase your odds of success.
Cell phones: You can buy a stun gun that looks like a cell phone. No one will know unless up close. This could make it a more effective weapon. The less prepared an attacker is, the greater your chance for escape. An attacker may not be concerned about someone with a cell phone. You can also find some with a built in flashlight.
Guns with light: You can buy a stun gun that is also a flashlight. This gives you a multipurpose tool to carry with you. You can get flashlight guns that are small enough to conceal in your hand. Some are very big and cast a strong beam of light. You can also find flashlight guns that have a personal alarm. This lends added safety to the weapon.
Conclusion
Stun guns offer a great variety in personal protection and personal safety. They are not expensive. You may be able to repel or disable an attacker. Some come with other features like flashlights and alarms. They are legal to carry in many states

UFC 88 Flashback: Rashad KO’s Liddell
by Admin on Oct.22, 2009, under General Discussion
By Ross Everett
Rashad Evans didnt scream about demanding respect in his prefight interviews because hes smart enough to know that respect must be earned. He earned it and then some with a devastating 2nd round TKO of Chuck Liddell in the main event of UFC 88.
If Evans needed any more validation of how little respect he was getting, he could have taken a look at the UFCs text message prediction poll of the main event which favored The Iceman by a whopping 81% to 19% margin. Or he could have listened to the UFC announcers, who had all but penciled Liddell in for a return to light heavyweight title contention after his inevitable victory.
From the opening horn, Evans showed no fear of Liddells once legendary power. Instead, he danced and moved (which was dumbly criticized as showboating by the UFC announce team), using his slick footwork and speed to dart in and out of range of Liddells punches. In the process, he was able to use his superior handspeed to get off first. His punches werent exactly highlight reel power shots at this point, but were nonetheless effective as evidenced by a cut opened under Liddells eye. For his part, Liddell scored with a few shots of his own, but was clearly frustrated by the evasiveness of his opponent.
Evans highlight reel power shot was to come in the 2nd round. Liddell backed Evans up near the cage wall and went to throw an uppercut. Simultaneously, Evans responded with an overhand right that landed quicker, harder and more accurately. The perfectly placed punch knocked Liddell out cold and referee Herb Dean jumped in to cover him up and wave off the fight without taking a second look. Evans’ KO was one of the most devastating in the history of the sport, and made all the more so by the status of the man on the receiving end.
Rashad Evans raised his record to 17-0-1 with the TKO victory. Liddell, meanwhile, saw his record drop to 21-6.
Liddells loss notwithstanding, it was a good night for UFC veterans as Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson won their fights in impressive fashion. Franklin looked particularly sharp in dismantling tough Matt Hamill, eventually prevailing by 3rd round TKO. Hamill had trouble getting inside for the takedown he needed to compete in the bout, and every time he closed the distance he was met with a barrage of Franklin punches and kicks. Franklin employed leg kicks early on, which obviously hurt Hamills ability to shoot for takedowns and ended the bout with a perfectly placed body kick that had Hamill doubled up and tapping out even as Mario Yamasaki covered the prone fighter.
This was the UFCs first trip to Atlanta and despite a good attendance the crowd itself was somewhat disappointing. In a marked contrast to the knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans at the Target Center in Minneapolis for UFC 87″arguably the best MMA crowd ever at a US venue”the live crowd at Phillips Arena often acted as if they were at a taping of Georgia Championship Wrestling. Every foreign fighter was booed mercilessly”including South Korean Kim. Perhaps the audience didnt realize that South Korea has been a US ally since its establishment after WW II.
More problematic was the crowds utter lack of respect for the fighters postfight. Poor Dong Hyun Kim was booed during his postfight interview–not quite the respect that a 4th degree judo black belt whod just won a very tough fight deserves. Kims treatment by the fans cant be written off as a reaction to a close split decision victory; Rashad Evans was booed after his victory over Liddell, and short of decapitating The Iceman there was no way his win could have been more decisive.

What They Don’t Tell You About Stun Guns
by Admin on Jul.07, 2009, under Welcome
Is it true that the stopping power of stun gun has everything to do with the voltage? In most cases Yes! I will explain.
When looking to purchase a stun gun. Why doesn’t everyone just go out and buy the most powerful? Most people don’t really know why they should pick the most powerful one they can afford. We will go over why.
A Stun guns voltage has increased dramatically in recent years and for good reason. For one technology and two, it is needed. Yes that’s correct it is needed. Simply because it will make a difference in the event of a self defense situation.
I am not suggesting that you should go throw out your 200,000 volt stun gun but, you should be aware of some differences. If you are ever assaulted then you will need to use your stun gun on this assailant for 4-5 seconds. Yes ! It is true. You need to make sure that you can get away! 4-5 seconds can seem like forever and unfortunately can mean life or death. This situation holds true for stun guns that are in the power range of 100,000 – 500,000 volts.
Stun guns manufactured in the range of 750K – 1.2 Million volts will cut that time needed in half. Just about 2 seconds is needed to subdue even the biggest of attackers. It is basically like getting hit with a baseball bat and god forbid if you ever have to experience that first hand. Using 2 seconds time is still along time in an attack you also need to consider if your going to apply this guns through clothing.
Now for the big boy stun guns. 1.5 millions – 2.6 million volts is going to stop your assailant. Rest assured that there is no need for another stun gun and even no need for a more powerful one. They can stop making them right here. Applying this to an assailant will put him or her down in a second or less. And that’s what you need to get away. It also reduces your chances of getting injured or worse by up to 75%-85%. You do not need to consider much with a stun gun powered at 2.5 million or more volts in a time of an attack. Having a 2.5 million volts or more stun gun available for your protection is an absolute necessity in my opinion and I’m sure my peers in the industry will agree.
These facts are things you should take into consideration when you purchase a stun gun. Of course your budget is something to consider however, life is priceless.

Stun Master Stun Guns
by Admin on May.10, 2009, under Stun Guns and Taser
Stun Master Stun Guns Shock The World
Now that we have your attention, let’s imagine for a minute that you’re a young female walking through a parking garage. Suddenly, a man comes from between the parked cars and attacks you. At this point, you are probably either thankful you have a Stun Master stun gun OR wishing you had one.
The above situation occurs all too often and not just to women either. Men and children are attacked as well. This trend has started an upswing in the popularity of stun guns. So what exactly is a stun gun anyway? How do they work? Are they dangerous?
Whoa there, hoss! One question at a time, OK?
What is a stun gun?
A stun gun is a device that can be carried in a purse or on the belt line as you would a small knife. They have two metal contact points that emit a high voltage charge that can be sustained for several seconds. The Stun Master stun gun company has several models of stun guns that can deliver from 100,000 to 625,000 volts to the attacker.
The idea is not to kill the attacker, but to simply subdue them or make them unable to pursue you temporarily so you can escape to safety.
What does the stun gun do to a person?
Basically, the Stun Master stun gun delivers a jolt of energy to the nervous system. Sort of like jamming a radar signal with a CB radio. The extra energy causes the muscles to flutter and become temporarily useless. The human nervous system operates on electrical impulses. All the Stun Master stun gun does is slightly overload that system for a moment.
What if a child picks one up and gets a shock?
Now this is something that would undoubtedly be uncomfortable. However, if a child DID happen to get hold of a Stun Master stun gun, the worst that could typically happen would be a slight shock and they would drop it. Of course, it is suggested that you keep these Stun Master stun guns out of the reach of children.
The effectiveness of a Stun Master stun gun is related to how long the charge is applied to the “victim”. The longer the shock is administered, the more effective the device is. So you see, if a kid got shocked and dropped it, there would be no harm done at all.
Are these affordable?
Depending on the amount of voltage you want to deliver, the cost is relative. If the cost is your only concern, then the Stun Master stun gun is the one for you. The 100,000 volt model (SM1000) starts at well under $50. The more powerful models can go a bit higher.
They are not unsightly and can be easily hidden in a purse or pocket. Some even come with a nice looking little leather belt holster.
As an added benefit, not only attackers can be repulsed with a Stun Master stun gun. Dogs can be affected as well. So joggers, walkers or bike riders can use them for safety, too.
Stun Master stun guns protect the ones you love, so buy them one as a gift. They’ll love you even more for it when it saves their life.
